Backgrounds and Aim: Anemia caused by iron deficiency is one of the common nourishment problems in the world and its prevalence in girls after puberty will be increased. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of attendance education on knowledge, attitude and practice of girl students about iron deficiency anemia.

Material and Methods: In this interventional study (quasi-experimental) 300 female students in the first three grades of high schools of Maragheh (150 students in the interventional group and 150 students in the control group) were enrolled and randomly selected.

Results:  The results showed that there was not a significant difference between the groups in term of knowledge, attitude and practice before the intervention but after that a significant difference has been observed (P<0.0001).

Conclusion: Knowledge, attitude and performance of students in the intervention group had increased, which means the intervention has improved the knowledge, attitude and practice. So increasing knowledge and awareness can take an important step to prevent anemia caused by iron deficiency and to promote students health. The girl's education, the future mothers, has a direct effect on the education of next generation.
