Backgrounds and Aim: Stress and anxiety during pregnancy of the major challenges and factors affecting the health of mothers and children. The purpose of this study was to investigate the invariance of the causal model of mothers 'awareness about infants care, stress and anxiety during pregnancy based on mother`s educational level.
Material and Methods: The design of this research is descriptive-correlation and more precisely path analysis. The statistical population of the study was pregnant women referred to Bojnourd health centers in the summer of 2017. A total of 292 women were selected through multi-stage sampling during a three-month period. Data was collected using demographic questionnaire, Mother`s Awareness about Infants Care Test (Bagheri, 2013) and depression, anxiety, stress scale (DASS-21). Data analysis was performed using SPSS.16 and AMOS.20 software.
Results: Path analysis showed that the prediction model of anxiety and stress in pregnant women, according to their awareness of infant care, has a good fit (c2/df=1.32, GFI= 0.99, AGFI=0.98, CFI=0.99, NFI= 0.99, RMSEA= 0.033) and the awareness of infant care is a negative and significant predictor of stress and anxiety during pregnancy (P≤0.01). The results of path analysis in the two groups of mothers with education and without university education showed variability in terms of educational level (P≤0.018).
Conclusion: The mothers’ awareness about infants care can affect their anxiety and stress during pregnancy. Mothers' education also affects their  awareness of how to care for the infants. Accordingly, it is possible to provide necessary instructions for pregnant women as one of the ways to reduce anxiety and stress during pregnancy.
