Background and Aim: Job satisfaction is one of the most challenging organizational and basic concepts of many management policies and approaches to increase productivity and organizational efficiency. The aim of this study was to determine the job satisfaction of laboratory staff in Sanandaj in 2016.
Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional and descriptive-analytical study was carried out in 2016. The study population included 200 employees working in laboratories in Sanandaj, who were selected by census method. The data collection tool was a 36-item Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. SPSS software version 20 was used for data analysis. The significance level was considered less than 0.05.
Results: The mean and standard deviation of overall job satisfaction obtained from this study was 14.54±1.10. The highest and lowest mean of job satisfaction among the staff in Sanandaj labs were 16.06 and 12.85 belonged to the dimensions of nature of work and career advancement, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between shifts with job promotion dimension (p = 0.03) and later side benefits (p = 0.047).
Conclusion: The results of the study indicated that the job satisfaction of the subjects was moderate. Increasing wages and paying more attention to lab staff can increase their satisfaction with laboratory work.
