Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional and descriptive-analytical study was conducted in 2019. To perform, 300 subjects aged 20-60 years were selected using stratified random methods from adults who referred to healthcare centers of Saveh University of Medical Sciences in Saveh city. The standard Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA) and demographic questionnaires were used to collect data. Collected data were managed by SPSS (version 21) and analyzed using independent T-test and One-way ANOVA.

The results showed that the health literacy score was significantly different based on mobile phone type (P = 0.002), employment status (P< 0.001), field of study (P< 0.001), education (P< 0.001), gender (P< 0.001) and age (P = 0.002).
Conclusion: There was a borderline (poor) health literacy status in the studied adults in Saveh. Furthermore, empowering adults in the community by implementing interventions based on designing diverse educational programs and considering socio-demographic factors, and focusing on health awareness promotion are recommended.
