Background and Aim: Nurses turnover imposes heavy costs on health systems. There are several factors that increase their intention to leave their jobs. The aim of this study is to identify the factors affecting nurse’s turnover in Iran through a scoping review.
Material and Methods: This study is a scoping review. Persian published papers were searched in Magiran databases. After screening, 33 related articles were found which fulfill the inclusion criteria. Then, the factors affecting nurses' leaving in Iran were extracted.
Results: By examining different studies, the factors affecting nurses' leaving were divided into six general categories: demographic factors, individual and family factors, environmental organizational factors, organizational behavior factors, job satisfaction factors, and factors related to the nature of the profession.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the average tendency of nurse’s turnover is moderate and high. Factors such as burnout, job satisfaction, and income can be considered as important factors in the leaving job by nurses in Iran health care system.
