The research sample included 126 undergraduate nursing students. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of 6 categories and 50 questions based on five-point Likert scale. The validity of the instrument was confirmed by content validity and its reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.96. Descriptive and inferential tests such as T- independent, analysis of variance and Pearson test at level (P <0.05) were used to analyze the data.
Results: Among the factors affecting patient communication, students identified professional factors as factors affecting student-patient communication. Based on statistical tests, there was a significant relationship between individual, social and professional factors with demographic variables (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Due to the high importance of factors related to job and profession compared to other factors affecting the relationship between patients and nursing students, it is necessary that the obstacles related to the environment and working conditions of nurses should be seriously considered by nursing officials and the necessary measures should be taken to resolve them.
