Background and Aim: For the first in the country, there has been a change in the timing of the implementation of the curriculum from the lower semesters to the last two semesters of the undergraduate laboratory science. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of undergraduate internships in the field of laboratory science from the students' point of view.
Material and Method: This descriptive study was conducted from 2016 to 2018 at Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences / Department of Laboratory Sciences. The data were collected by a researcher-made questionnaire that evaluates students' perceptive on internship from lower semesters with 6 questions.
Results: The study samples consisted of 83 people from third to sixth semester undergraduate students in laboratory sciences. In terms of internships from lower semesters, students' agreeableness to "usefulness", "job knowledge and discipline", "better course learning", "necessity" was 85.8%, 95.4%, 67.7% and 58.1%, respectively. Overall, 51.6% of students also disagreed with the question that "Does this course harm your college education?"
Conclusion: According to the students, the implementation of the internship training program in the field from the lower semesters, from third to the sixth semester, instead of starting from the seventh semester, can help in better learning the courses
